My little Lulu

Lulu came into my life in 2010, my father found it in a box, alone and with a month of life, so he decided to bring her home. She is poodle,-five-year-old, female dog. She is full of energy, since childhood she learned to do tricks, like fetching the ball and jump. She had puppies a few months ago. She loves to get in the car ride and stick his head out the window.

She is a lady, she has never destroyed any object, except his toys. At first no one loved her very much, but eventually everyone's heart won. she is extremely affectionate, I have to brush four time a week and feed her also twice a day.Sleeps with me everyday, I love her a lot and could not imagine my life without her. She makes me happy when I have a bad day.

LIVE TO CAPTURE PERFECT MEMORIES

I have memories of the great moments of my life thanks to photos, so my favorite piece of technology is camera. My first camera gave me my grandfather when I was 7 years old, it is my great treasure. Model is Zenit and was one of the first analogous profesional, with that camera I learned to take my first photographs and to be interested in the área. The best part is when you go to develop the roll, then the magic comes true.

Now I have 20 cameras, of different colors, sizes and functions. They are very important for me because I work with them such as photo shoot, photo report and also to relax.

Photography is part of my life, I couldn't imagine myself without it, my grandfather used to say "live to capture perfect memories" and is now my philosophy of life.

Why did I choose journalism?

Since I was child I was interested in contributing to society in the area of health. When I graduate from high school I decided dentistry because in my country it’s very expensive, so not everyone can access it, to have a good pay never was a priority. After much thought, be a dentist mean, always work in a room and without being able to go out neither visit other places.

I finally decided to leave the idea studying dentistry to get into Journalism at the Universidad de Chile. WHY?
Journalism is certainly a versatile profession that allows you to work on different platforms. I want to travel, to see the world, to have many pictures of the adventures to remember later. Journalism is power, allows us to see different realities.

In the future I’d like to work in a magazine photojournalist or maybe be international journalist.

My biography

TBT

Hi! My name is Marco Jiménez. I was born on november 5 of 1994, in Santiago the capital of Chile. This is located in South America -the last place on earth haha-. The part of the city I live in is called Maipú. It's a really big town and is known for having a big population and beeing far away from Santiago's downtown, I live with my father, who works in construction, my mother, who is a tailor, and my grandma.
During my youth I did not have many hobbies. I used to play slackline and took violin lessons, but my favorite hobby always was -and is- photography.
I studied in two schools: The first one was "Haydn school" where in did my elementary school. For highschool I went to "Alberto Widmer", now I estudying journalism at Universidad de Chile, but I really like the idea of being photojournalist.

Marcha CUT 2016
Journalism allows us to see different realities, besides we can empathize with the rest and sometimes we have the oportunity of beeing "a voice" for others who can't say what they think. In my country information is a privilege. Most of the people lives misinformed, in addition many of them don't have the chance of having their own opinion. If I can help a little bit to democratize the media in my country, it would be really rewarding. Journalism is powerful and it should not be in hands of the villains.
